Frequently
Asked Questions
What destinations do you recommend for our tour?
Many U.S. teams travel to Europe or South America, because of the rich soccer
culture in these continents. South America experiences summer time during the
months of December through March. Soccer is in full swing during these months
and if your availability can accommodate it, this is a great time to visit.
In Europe, the weather turns comfortable around March, and many professional
soccer games and leagues are in session during March, April and May. Many practice
games, exciting exhibitions and tournaments are played in August. Due to our
extensive connections in Brazil and Western Europe, we can provide unique and
top class tours to these destinations.

What is the typical length of a tour?
Most teams travel between 7 and 10 days. However, we will accommodate any length
tour depending on your needs.
What is the cost of a typical tour?
The cost will vary depending on the time of the year, the airline fares, and
the customized events included in your tour. On average, a ten day tour to Western
Europe will cost approximately $2200 - $2600 per person. A ten day tour to Brazil
will cost approximately $2500 - $3000 per person.
How many individuals do we need to book a tour?
Most groups travel with at least 20 persons. However, we will be happy to accommodate
smaller groups. For every 20 persons travelling with the group, we will include
one free tour. If your group is smaller, we will still be able to provide a
substantial discount to your group leader. Groups include club soccer teams,
ODP, select, high schools, colleges, groups of coaches, and groups of friends
interested in experiencing the soccer, culture and history of the foreign country.
How far in advance should we book?
Proper planning for your tour is an important component in the success of your
experience, and the more time we have to prepare, the better. Some teams sit
down with us 15 months ahead of time. However, 9to 12 months of planning is
a comfortable time period.
How do we know that we are getting the most cost effective and successful
tour?
Our tour directors have extensive experience with the availability and pricing
of travel, accommodations and attractions. If you travel during low season,
the airline fares and accommodations will be lower, and we will be able to pass
this on to your group. The cost of your accommodations will depend upon your
preferences. Accommodations range from youth hostels to school facilities to
bed and breakfast rooms to five star hotels.

What is your cancellation policy and are we insured?
We will purchase a flight cancellation waiver, so that in the event that you
have to cancel your tour for medical reasons (this requires documentation and
a doctor's note), the airline company will refund the cost of your flight. You
are responsible for your own health insurance in the event of a medical need
during the tour. We recommend that you check your homeowner's insurance or any
insurance your credit card company may offer you with respect to travel and/or
health insurance. If you need additional coverage, we recommend that you contact
your insurance agent to discuss your supplemental needs. If in the unlikely
event that due to circumstances beyond yours and our control the entire tour
has to be cancelled, JB Soccer Tours will refund you the full amount of any
refundable expenses we have incurred, as long as this amount is not already
covered by your trip cancellation insurance. If you choose to cancel for personal
reasons, we will refund any expenses that have not already been committed by
JB Soccer Tours and are refundable by the vendors, as long as the refund is
not already covered by your trip cancellation insurance, and as long as the
cancellation takes place more than 30 days from the departure date.
What documentation do we need to participate in the tour?
U.S. Citizens will need a passport to travel. Non U.S. citizens will also need
a green card for entry back into the U.S. and may need a visa to enter certain
countries, depending on their country of origin.
If you are a member of a club team or high school, please receive the necessary
information from your club or school regarding their specific requirements.
How and when do we make payments for our tour?
Payment will be made by check or money order, payable to JB Soccer
Academy. If you are interested in paying in installments, we will be happy to
accept three separate payments, with the first payment due shortly after your
group's full committment to the tour (usually approximately 4 - 6 months before
departure), and the last payment due three weeks before departure.
Are family members, friends and guest players allowed on the tour?
Yes. Your group leader or coach will have the final decision regarding
which participants will join your tour. If you are traveling with a youth club
or school team, we recommend at least one adult chaperone for every four players.
Will we be able to play against teams of our caliber?
Yes. We will discuss your team's needs with your coach or group leader.
We have extensive contacts with a large variety of professional and amateur
boys and girls teams to coordinate at least three challenging matches. Depending
on the timing of your tour, many tournaments also provide ideal opportunities
to play against teams from around the world.
